Description
The purpose of this research proposal is to develop numerical methods for the prediction of the nonlinear aerodynamic characteristics of lifting surfaces, of the type used in the tails of commercial aircraft. The methods to be developed will be calibrated and validated using a systematic series of wind tunnel tests of several models covering a wide range of planform parameters, with and without simulated ice shapes.
