Project name:

A Greek SME is looking for a technology to exploit the heat (waste gases) from an exhaust gas boiler

Status: Idea
Creation date: 30-08-2022

Project objectives:

Short summary A Greek SME, active in the field of carpet cleaning and restoration and yarn dying, is interested in acquiring proper technology for using the heat of waste gases produced form an LPG boiler, in order to heat a cool water tank. Technical consulting companies with specialization in energy savings are sought to provide the requested technology. The requested type of cooperation is commercial agreement with technical assistance.

Full description The Greek company, started as a textile and yarn processing facility, now counts many decades of experience in carpet (as well as blanket, quilt, flokat etc.) cleaning, repair and restoration, upholstery cleaning, flock and other wool and cotton items dying, and carpet repairs & restoration. For the cleaning and drying procedures, steam is used to heat the water in the washing and the machines and dryers. For the steam, an LPG boiler is used which produces waste gases at an estimated temperature of 200-250 degrees Celsius. The challenge the company is facing is the need to minimize its energy losses by exploiting the heat deriving from these waste gases and using it to heat the cold water in the facility’s tanks, resulting eventually in cost savings from energy consumption. For that cause, the company is seeking for the technical assistance of a specialist to provide a proper technology to account to this result. Such technology shall exploit the lost heat without creating any issues in the used LPG system. More specifically, there is the need to install a module in the exhaust pipe that exploits the heat and connects it through a pipeline network to the facility’s main cold water tank. The type of partnering considered is commercial agreement with technical assistance.

Technical Specification or Expertise Sought A technical consulting company with expertise in energy savings is sought to install a module in the exhaust pipe of the LPG boiler that exploits the heat and connects through a pipeline network to the main cold water tank, without causing any problems to the boiler.
