Status: Idea
Creation date: 14-10-2022

Project objectives:

Short summary The University from Lithuania, which has 13 institutes, 3 research centers and 22 laboratories, specializes in the energy saving of buildings. The university has developed concrete slabs for building facades, which are intended for vertical greening of buildings. Manufacturers of "living walls" looking for partners to work under a licensing agreement or technological cooperation agreement.

Full description Lithuanians create concrete slabs that are intended for "living walls" facade walls of buildings. The outer part of the panel is adapted for the growth of vegetation by itself, such a "living walls" requires very little maintenance (planting, watering plants is not necessary). The facades of buildings covered with vegetation have thermoregulatory properties (they help to ensure that the premises will be cooler in summer and warmer in winter), thus reducing the costs of building operation (heating and ventilation), and also help to absorb noise. Such panels also create an attractive aesthetic image. Due to the available properties, the R&D product would be suitable for newly constructed or reconstructed buildings, aiming for higher environmental friendliness and lower heating and ventilation costs. • The product solves a very clear problem in the market - it reduces the costs of heating and ventilation of buildings. In addition, the solution is sustainable. Such panels can be used both in newly built and reconstructed buildings, especially in buildings of exceptional architecture and public purpose (eg libraries, etc.). • It is important to note that there are already alternatives on the market, but they are much more expensive • In 2019, the worldwide market of "living walls" amounted to over 193.73 billion. eur., and until 2027 an annual growth rate of 8.2% is predicted for the market, so that year the market should reach 365 billion. Euro The product under development is almost developed, has a strong competitive advantage, but lacks more accurate results, especially regarding the durability of concrete slabs. Also, there is currently only one person working in the team, there is a lack of marketing and sales specialists. After solving these questions, it would be possible to present the created result to the market.

Advantages and innovations The main distinguishing feature of this solution compared to other "living walls" solutions is its price - such a wall is much cheaper to install and maintain than other alternatives on the market. The main problem solved by the product is the high costs of building operation (heating and ventilation).
