1. OBJECTIVES OF THE FUNDING PROGRAMThe societal benefits deriving from the LEIT-NMBP technologies and their convergence (including with the other key enabling technologies) will be showcased in two important areas, healthcare and energy. These areas can demonstrate the value of vision-inspired science, and technologies brought to bear on critical societal issues. Efforts in these areas are also justified by the relative maturity of the underlying technologies. New production and business models will support climate and environment goals.
