1. OBJECTIVES OF THE FUNDING PROGRAMTo meet the increasingly complex challenges of urban areas an integrated and sustainable response is needed. Within the context of this integrated and sustainable urban approach there is a requirement for new, efficient, and user-friendly technologies and services, in particular in areas of energy, transport, and ICT. These solutions however require integrated approaches, both at the level of research and development of advanced technological solutions, as well as at the level of deployment.
