The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) has announced the launch of the new 2026 LIFE calls for proposals on the Funding & Tenders Portal.
The LIFE 2021–2027 programme is the European Union’s instrument supporting the transition towards a sustainable, circular, low-carbon, and climate-resilient economy. Funded projects will contribute to restoring nature and biodiversity, promoting the circular economy and pollution reduction, as well as accelerating the development of green and clean technologies.
The deadline for submitting proposals is set for 22 September 2026 for most project types. A total budget of €601.5 million is available for 2026.
The following calls are planned:
- Standard Action Projects (SAP) under the Circular Economy and Quality of Life sub-programme
- Standard Action Projects (SAP) under the Nature and Biodiversity sub-programme
- Standard Action Projects (SAP) under the Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation sub-programme
- Other Action Grants (OAGs) for the Clean Energy Transition (CET), with a deadline of 16 September 2026
- Strategic Nature Projects (SNaP) and Strategic Integrated Projects (SIP) (two-stage calls, with a first deadline on 3 September 2026 and a second deadline on 4 March 2027)
- Technical Assistance Projects for the preparation of SIPs and SNaPs
- Preparatory Projects addressing ad hoc legislative and policy priorities (PLP)
The call for operating grants for non-governmental organisations will be published at a later stage.
