MULTI2HYCAT project just started!

On January 26th -27th the MULTI2HYCAT partners took part in the kick-off meeting held in Alessandria, Italy.  The project is funded under the H2020 topic NMBP-01-2016 Novel hybrid materials for heterogeneous catalysis (Grant Agreement 720783).

It aims at designing, obtaining proof of concept and upscaling in a pre-pilot reactor a new class of hierarchically-porous organic-inorganic hybrid materials, which will be used as active catalysts to carry out multi-step asymmetric catalytic processes with predominantly high conversions and selectivity towards the desired final products.

The project promises to solve, for the first time, the low conversion and selectivity of current organosiliceous solids, while at the same time improving the flexibility and versatility and reducing costs of the obtained catalysts, making them attractive for a wide range of industrial applications.

The MULTI2HYCAT consortium consists of 8 partners, all essential to the success of the project, and each with a specific role complementary to that of the other partners. 4 research centres (UPO, ITQ, UOS and CNRS) will carry out research activities, while 3 companies (the SMEs CAGE, and ALM, and the large company SOL) will validate the proposed processes and products at the industrial level. Moreover, as innovation and technology transfer organization, PNO will guarantee a sound dissemination campaign and the exploitation of project results.
