“THE VALUE OF WATER: Multiple Waters, for multiple purposes and users”

WssTP is the European Technology Platform for Water and was initiated by the European Commission in 2004 as an industry lead stakeholder forum. Twelve years later and with over 150 members, WssTP has become the recognized voice and promotor of water-related RTD and innovation in Europe. Together with Key WssTP stakeholders from industry, utilities, research organisations, water and public authorities, PNO has developed the new Vision: “THE VALUE OF WATER: Multiple Waters, for multiple purposes and users”.

Vision to inspire all stakeholders during the coming decades

This vision has been developed in the first half of 2016, to set the directions for tackling the key societal challenges related to water - which is one of the key resources underpinning our lives and economies. The vision outlines what the future water-smart society will look like towards 2030, based on emerging technology and societal trends which are expected to lead to a paradigm shift on how we deal with the finite resources on our planet. It outlines the higher level innovations that will be required to realise that vision, and as such sets the base for a renewed Strategic Innovation and Research Agenda (SIRA), and serves as an inspiration for both policy makers, researchers, technology developers and water management authorities, to join forces in building a sustainable, robust, resilient and dynamic water-smart society for Europe while strengthening Europe’s contribution to the global societal challenges and water market.

Join the Water Innovation Europe Conference on June 22- 23 in Brussels

Under the theme 'Water Smart: European Solutions for a smart water society', the 5th edition of Water Innovation Europe conference will take place from 21 to 23 June at the Diamant Conference Centre in Brussels. The WssTP’s annual stakeholder conference steps in to bring to light clever solutions on how to face the water-related global challenges and lay the foundations for ‘Water-Smart Societies’. The conference brings core sessions dedicated to Water on the interface between the digital and the physical world:

• Water Energy Food Nexus
• The value of water
• Water for a Sustainable Economy.

WssTP has prepared an exciting agenda of compelling sessions and top-notch speakers. In the context of Water Innovation Europe 2016, WssTP will also seize the opportunity to hand out the new WssTP Water Vision 2030 to the EU Commissioner for Research, Science, and Innovation, Carlos Moedas who will deliver a keynote speech on the first day of the conference (June 22nd). Special highlight of the conference will be the WssTP Water Innovation SME Awards dinner, during which participants will have the chance to network and celebrate the most innovative technologies of the European water sector.
