EuroHPC JU: €119 Million for Quantum Technologies in Europe

The EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) has launched six new calls under Horizon Europe, with a total budget of €119 million, to support the development and deployment of quantum technologies in Europe.

The opportunities cover different stages of the value chain, from the development of new quantum computing platforms to the infrastructures needed for testing and industrialisation:

  • HORIZON-JU-EUROHPC-2026-TIPT-09 – Trapped-Ion Platform Technologies – €20 million: development of quantum computing systems based on trapped ions, integrated with HPC infrastructures and accessible via cloud.
  • HORIZON-JU-EUROHPC-2026-SPT-10 – Superconducting Platform Technologies – €20 million: development of superconducting quantum platforms, with a focus on scalability, hardware/software integration and the European supply chain.
  • HORIZON-JU-EUROHPC-2026-NAPT-11 – Neutral-Atom Platform Technologies – €20 million: development of quantum processors based on neutral atoms for quantum computing and simulation.
  • HORIZON-JU-EUROHPC-2026-NQKD-12 – Next-Generation QKD Systems – €24 million: development of advanced Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems and solutions integrating Post-Quantum Cryptography technologies.
  • HORIZON-JU-EUROHPC-2026-QTI-13 – Quantum-Testing Infrastructure for Quantum Technologies – €20 million: creation of a European testing infrastructure for the validation and certification of quantum components and systems, also accessible to SMEs and start-ups.
  • HORIZON-JU-EUROHPC-2026-QEXP-14 – Quantum Experimental Pilot Lines for Quantum Technologies – €15 million: development of experimental pilot lines to support the transition of quantum technologies from research towards more scalable and industrialised production processes.

 Deadline: 17 November 2026
