A new national funding scheme supporting the decarbonisation of companies operating in hard-to-abate sectors is expected to open soon.
The Italian Ministry of the Environment has allocated €180 million to the initiative, with 80% of the funding reserved for Southern Italian regions.
Eligible projects will include investments aimed at decarbonising industrial processes through energy efficiency improvements, electrification, renewable energy generation for self-consumption, hydrogen use, and carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS).
Companies will be able to access non-repayable grants, with funding rates to be defined in the official call for applications.
