The Second Call of FutureFoodS is now officially open, supporting project proposals aligned with three key areas for food sustainability:
- Domestic food practices for healthy and sustainable diets: food security, cultural values, nutritional needs and consumer behaviour.
- Diversified, sustainable and circular food processing systems: innovations in processing and packaging, valorisation of by-products and secondary streams, and development of solutions adapted to different consumer groups.
- Transparency and trust in food systems: development of methods, indicators, tools and metrics to ensure trust, transparency and co-creation with food system actors.
Projects of different types are eligible: exploratory research projects (TRL 3–5) or accelerating innovation projects (TRL 6–8).
The total available funding is €39,000,000 for projects lasting up to 36 months.
The call foresees a two-stage selection procedure, with submission of the pre-proposal by 11 February 2026 and the full proposal by 27 July 2026
