On 24 April 2025, the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) published the 2025 LIFE Programme calls for proposals on the Funding & Tenders Portal, with a total budget of over €578 million.
The LIFE Programme 2021–2027 is the European Union’s funding instrument supporting the transition to a sustainable, circular, low-carbon, and climate-resilient economy.
The deadline for submitting proposals is set for 23 September 2025 for most project types. Exceptions include Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs) and Strategic Nature Projects (SNaPs), which will follow a two-stage application procedure.
The following calls are foreseen:
- Standard Action Projects (SAPs):
- Nature and Biodiversity – €153.4 million
- Circular Economy and Quality of Life – €73 million
- Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation – €61.5 million
- New European Bauhaus – €4 million
- Environmental Governance – €7.5 million
- Coordination and Support Actions (CSAs):
- Clean Energy Transition – €91.4 million
- Strategic Nature Projects (SNaPs) and Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs):
- Two-stage application process:
- Concept note deadline: 4 September 2025
- Full proposal deadline: 5 March 2026
Total budget: €158 million
Technical Assistance Projects:
- For SNaPs and SIPs (TA-PP)
- For Replication (TA-R)
- For Legislative and Policy Priorities (PLP)
Total budget: €30 million
