New Funding Call for R&D Projects in Southern Italy

A total of €505 million will soon be available to support industrial research and experimental development projects in Southern Italy. The call is open to industrial, manufacturing, agro-industrial companies and research organisations. Projects must be carried out collaboratively and involve at least one SME. Eligible activities include industrial research and experimental development aimed at creating new products, processes or services, or significantly improving existing ones, in the field of Key Enabling Technologies (KETs). These include artificial intelligence, life sciences, advanced materials, photonics and digital security, among others. Projects must have eligible costs ranging from €1 million to €5 million and must be implemented in Italy’s less developed regions: Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily. The incentive combines subsidised financing covering 40% of eligible costs with a non-repayable grant of up to 40% for companies (reduced to 30% for large enterprises) and up to 60% for research organisations. Applications will be assessed in chronological order of submission. If the available funding is insufficient to fully cover all applications submitted on the same day, access to the assessment procedure will be determined according to applicants’ position in a specific ranking.
