EIT RawMaterials has launched the KAVA 14 – Upscaling Call, an initiative aimed at supporting innovative projects in the fields of raw materials, advanced materials, and recycling.

The call funds projects in the following areas:

• Exploration and mining
• Raw materials processing and refining
• Advanced materials
• Circular economy and recycling

Proposed projects must focus on technologies with an initial Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of at least TRL 5 and be capable of reaching at least TRL 8 by the end of the project. They must also demonstrate strong market potential, a credible commercialization strategy, financial and environmental sustainability, and alignment with EIT RawMaterials’ strategic objectives.

Available funding ranges from a minimum of €500,000 to more than €2,500,000 per project. A minimum 50% co-funding of the total project budget by the applicant consortium is required.

Projects may have a maximum duration of two and a half years, while the commercialization of the developed solutions must take place within two years after project completion.
