Last week in Athens, Greece, Ana Aleixo from PNO Portugal attended on behalf of SUPREME (Grant Agreement No. 101058422), a Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action funded under HORIZON-CL4-2021-RESILIENCE-01. SUPREME is developing sustainable, safe-by-design antimicrobial surface nanocoatings based on advanced functional and core/shell nanoparticles, including tailored TiO₂-based materials and hybrid fibre–nanoparticle systems using bio-based cellulose. The project aims to combine antimicrobial effectiveness, durability, toxicity assessment, and life cycle sustainability to scale up these innovative coatings to industrially relevant environments (up to TRL6), contributing to healthier indoor spaces and reducing the transmission of harmful pathogens. As leader of communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities, PNO Portugal is supporting SUPREME in maximising its impact and visibility across Europe.
