The first newsletter of the SURVANT project has just been released and it focuses on the desciption of the scope and objectives to be reached by the consortium.

SURVANT stands for Surveillance Video Archives Investigation Assistant and is the follow up of the research project ADVISE (GA 285024), cofinanced by EU in the FP7 Work programme in the SEC-2011 call. It intends to prove the ADVISE results in an operational environment, fine tune them and bring to the market the SURVANT system capable to analyse video footage from heterogeneous surveillance video archives and efficiently identify and extract relevant information about events, people and objects from such videos.
