On 25 March 2025, the VERNE Project, coordinated by PNO Spain, hosted its first co-creation workshop focused on assessing circular economy strategies in the tourism sector.
The session gathered tourism stakeholders, policymakers, and researchers to identify strengths, weaknesses, and barriers to circularity.
Key findings included the need for flexible frameworks tailored to SMEs and the importance of simplifying certification processes.
Participants stressed that education, awareness, and policy incentives are crucial to fostering real change.
These insights will shape VERNE’s next steps toward designing inclusive, place-based circular strategies for European tourism.
