The webinar to discover the new open-innovation bio-economy platform BiOPEN will introduce all facilities and new possibilities to receive, distribute and exchange relevant information in the field of bio-economy and circular economy.
On the 27 November 2018 from 14.00 to 15.30 the platform will be introduced to you.
In the BiOPEN project funded by Horizon 2020/ BBI-JU partners from seven different European countries (Belgium, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, and The Netherlands) set up a unique open-innovation platform established with compelling advantages for its users. As a member of this BIOPEN platform you will be able to inform yourself about offers, research projects and available funding in the bio-based sector. You can join projects of your interest for production of your sustainable and competitive bio-based products and processes as BIOPEN platform facilitate the matchmaking and contact among organisations with specific expertise alongside new and existing value chains. Moreover BIOPEN will offer the opportunity to collect comprehensive information on patents, research articles and funded projects of inventions and technical developments. Through the matchmaking tools available on the platform you will be able to build your global research and development and innovation network and to access and share relevant knowledge for innovation processes in the bio-based sector with your professional profile.
At the beginning of the webinar the BiOPEN project and all project partners will be introduced by the project partner Europe Unlimited. Afterwards, Innovation Engineering (programming the platform) will guide step by step through all modules and functionalities of the platform. Besides an introduction of the BIOPEN platform, the webinar offers you updated open and upcoming calls of National and European funding programs presented by Ciaotech (project coordinator).

The BiOPEN project is a CSA project funded under BBI JU and coordinated by Ciaotech, Italy. The consortium involves 9 partners from seven EU countries (Italy, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, and Poland) and is highly specialized in the bio-based industry. It comprises five European bio-based clusters (Bioeconomy Cluster, Biobased Delta, CLIB2021, Smart Chemistry Park operated by Turku Science Park, West Pomeranian Chemical Cluster Green Chemistry), three open innovation expert companies (Ciaotech, Europe Unlimited, Innovation Engineering), and one research centre (National Technical University of Athens). The project partners will reach a large number of stakeholders and involve them actively through workshops, direct support to find collaboration partners or co-funding and online matchmaking. They will also deliver five perspective studies on new bio-based products and markets, encompassing both downstream sectors and brand owners. This project has received funding from the Bio Based Industries Joint Undertaking under the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 745719.
