A Spanish Institute of Aerospace Technology, in particular the Materials and Structures Department, is looking for partners and/or consortia to participate in HORIZON-CL5-2023-D5-01-07/08/09 calls for proposals. The main role of the Materials and Structures Department would be to carry out any kind of materials characterization after long term exposure to hydrogen environments. They are looking for aircraft or engine manufacturers and/or airports that are leading/participating in consortia.
The Spanish Institute of Aerospace Technology is a Public research and development organization that works for the Spanish Ministry of Defence in the fields of aeronautics and space. Within the Institute, the Materials and Structures Department is interested in participating in the Horizon Europe Cluster 5 calls for proposals. In particular, the Metallic Materials Area and the Composite Materials Area from the Spanish Institute may participate in a consortium that needs materials characterization after long term exposure to hydrogen environments. These Areas will provide non-destructive, chemical, microstructural and mechanical testing equipments, such as hydrogen embrittlement evaluation, optical and scanning electron microscopes, X-ray inspection, tensile, fatigue and fracture toughness testing, cryogenic tests, structural health monitoring, and determination of hydrogen content in metallic alloys by fusion techniques. The relevant calls for proposals are: HORIZON-CL5-2023-D5-01-07- Hydrogen-powered aviation (the Institute could provide testing materials performance). HORIZON-CL5-2023-D5-01-08- Accelerating climate-neutral hydrogen-powered/electrified aviation (the Institute could contribute in a better understanding of advanced materials’ compatibility and innovative and characterization techniques). HORIZON-CL5-2023-D5-01-09- Competitiveness and digital transformation in aviation-advancing further capabilities digital approach to design (the Institute could explore synergies with clean aviation for long-term hydrogen exposed materials behaviour testing).
