B3 FURN - Bio-Based Binder for Furniture

The aim of the project B3 FURN is to develop and commercialise a novel technology of making wet-laid medium-density fibreboard (MDF) for furniture application, using a bio-based binder in place of incumbent materials. The resulted boards can be 100% recycled at end of use and are formaldehyde free. The process has been already demonstrated using batch production at full scale, and in B3 FURN it will be proven in continuous full-scale production with a suitable wet-forming fibreboard machine.
