In smart mobility Europe is facing a big challenge from Uber, Google, Apple and others from Asia. This is why the spirit of ASTERIX is very suitable to the call: he has a “solution” helping him against much bigger forces. More importantly he is successful at transferring this solution to other locations across Europe.

Like ASTERIX we have a solution package that we would like to transfer across Europe. This package has two Physical Internet solutions that have been funded by H2020 and are currently operating in Ankara as a package. (known as TAG and DynaHUBs) these applications form peer-to-peer carpooling and delivery networks without using any professional drivers.

They make use of people in their daily commutes without adding new vehicles to the roads. This package is far more economic, environmental, social and resilient than what is offered by Uber, Lyft, Sidecar and others who have to carry the cost of drivers, vehicles, and the admin of huge operations. Thus over the last year we have seen that Uber is losing €250 mil per month; Lyft announced losses of €50 mil per month; Sidecar declared bankruptcy. In Ankara people in our network pay €0.75 for a journey. For the same Journey Uber is charging €15. For a package delivery Uber’s cost is €4.95 our price is again €0.75. This is because our system has no cost!! It is just people sharing their capacity for the journeys they are already doing. Furthermore, our system works as part of the city's transportation system encouraging people to make use of the Metro system or the use of taxi sharing.

For project ASTERIX we have developed a Dashboard Deployment System to replicate the rollout of these applications in different locations. Our project consortium comes together to test this deployment methodology across 10-20 European cities. We intend to fine-tune this system further so that in the future it will become a platform to roll-out other European mobility solutions.
