European project on Ski recycling - Looking for a company that recycles ski material and a partner expert in economic analysis

Short summary The main objective of the project is to diffuse knowledge related to sustainability by ski recycling, develop a network of partners, and exchange new practices and methods. The consortium composed by partners from France, Italy and Austria is looking for more partners to complement its expertise.

Full description Currently skis are hardly recyclable and plastic waste, especially in fragile mountain areas, is a colossal problem. When old skis come to the end of their operational life, they often finish their course in a dump or in waste incinerators, even if there are some new efforts to give them a second life, and EU regulation exist to insist to recycle. Several ski boot manufacturers have started recycling or have launched a partnership between manufacturers with the aim of collaborating to obtain recyclable skis. However, several difficulties arise: the recycling economic sector is not organised, the different stakeholders do not know each other, efforts for the sector structuring are stammering, and no transnational cooperation exists. The main objective of the project is to diffuse knowledge related to sustainability by ski recycling, develop a network of partners, and exchange new practices and methods as well as promote confrontation of ideas about the topic. Practice, method and knowledge dissemination will integrate as well as technical and economic elements. Further information will be gathered about the recycling / reuse sector organisation, and laws and regulations affecting them. By these objectives the project intents to upgrade skills of its target groups and beneficiaries, carried out by informal learning through its activities. The project will build on existing and previous European and national funded projects. Call for proposal targeted: 1. ERASMUS+ "Cooperation partnerships" --> deadline 22th March 2023 2. INTERREG Alpine Space --> deadline october 2023 The consortium is currently composed by: - FR SME: Ski resseller and ski recycling - FR International Center for Local Development Studies - RO SME - IT large company (tbc) - Austria SME (tbc) Lead partner to be determined The consortium is looking for two types of partners: - company that already recycles skis / or with a technology in ski recycling / or reseller of recycled ski material - organisation (not for profit or private) with an expertise on economic analysis to carry out a study about the lack and the strength of this economic sector. This/theses organisation(s) should be able to work on the different project countries/alpine regions Partners from the alpine area (Italy, Germany, Austria, Slovenia) are particularly sought after.

This/theses organisation(s) should be able to work on the different project countries/alpine regions
