Project objectives:

Short summary Slovak expert research team, which includes young doctoral students 2, engineers 2, associate professor 1, prof 2 working in the field since 2008 and solving issues of hydrogen technologies in the field of research, development and teaching is looking for partners for Horizon Europe Projects - HORIZON-JU-CLEAN-AVIATION-2022-01-HER-02, HORIZON-JU-CLEAN-AVIATION-2022-01-HER-03, HORIZON-JTI-CLEANH2-2022-03-01.

Full description Hydrogen Fuel Cells Slovakia, o.z. is a private non-profit research organization - association of experts in the field of hydrogen technologies, - group of theoretical research, - group of non-empirical and empirical experiments. The department is specifically focused on solving mathematical modelling of functional processes in PEM FC in the Simulink and Ansys environment. The most valuable results were achieved in the field of solving the processes of generation and removal of thermal energy in non-stationary key transport phenomena. The organization deals with the optimization of PEM FC design elements based on non-empirical models and also with the optimization of cell functionality using empirical outputs. In terms of technical equipment, they have the conditions for laboratory testing of FC up to testing of prototypes. Development and optimization of high-performance PEM FC stacks designed for heavy-duty vehicles and special applications for short and medium-range aircraft. Several national research and innovation science projects focusing on the application of hydrogen technologies to railway locomotives and heavy-duty vehicles have been addressed. The organization is currently involved in the design of hydrogen propulsion systems for short-range aircraft and cooperates with the consortium of various Slovak technical universities and Slovak Academy of Science. Organization strengths are based on the ability to process and debug mathematical models to effectively optimize PEM FC design, including optimizing PEM FC functionality. Theoretical research is confronted with experimental measurements. The main topics of interest are: HORIZON-JU-CLEAN-AVIATION-2022-01-HER-02: Thermal Management Solutions for Hybrid-Electric Regional Aircraft HORIZON-JU-CLEAN-AVIATION-2022-01-HER-03: Electrical Distribution Solutions for Hybrid-Electric Regional Aircraft HORIZON-JTI-CLEANH2-2022-03-01: Development and optimisation of reliable and versatile PEMFC stacks for high power range applications
