HYCOMENCRY

The HYCOMENCRY project has brilliantly passed the first stage of the topic and now the consortium is preparing the full proposal for the second stage.

The main objective of the HYCOMENCRY project is to realize a continuous and sustainable bioreactor implementing CO2 fixation and direct conversion of solar energy into chemical energy for the production of renewable and nonpolluting fuels. The process will be directed towards the continuous fixation of carbon dioxide to formate by photoconversion as an alternative and renewable energy source. The new technology must not only have a commercial potential but they should also have a lower environmental impact and lower greenhouse gases emissions than the current renewable energy technologies. The Consortium is well balanced, being composed by three Public Research Organizations, three Academic Institutions and three Industrial/SME and representative of six European countries.
