MINEYE - Earth observation techniques for mine life cycle monitoring using artificial intelligence

The main objective of the MINEYE is to optimise operations throughout the entire mining value chain, from explorations to mine closure, based on continuous and dynamic update of the Earth Observation (EO) data and knowledge using ML-based approaches such as Common Earth Modelling (CEM), implemented by utilising new Digital Twin technologies for visualisation and decision-making.
MINEYE focuses on near-mine exploration and optimization of mineral extraction from primary and secondary deposits with a high rate of recovery using developed cutting-edge EO data fusion methods. Based on interactive communications between EO and monitoring data collected from different parts of the mine segments, MINEYE aims to secure future access of the EU to raw materials by means of breakthrough approaches, using integrated data and environmentally friendly approaches.
