Short summary A Spanish regional public body is preparing an Erasmus Plus project aimed to define training resources to create a new professional profile, the rural innovator, to address economic, social and environmental challenges of the rural environment. It is searching for partners to collaborate to identify skills and training needs, define new courses and extracurricular activities and test them through pilots.

Full description The project aims at defining training resources to facilitate the acquisition of skills and create tools to address the economic, social and environmental challenges posed by the rural environment in Europe through the creation of a new professional profile, the rural innovator. Based on the experience acquired in the organisation of a social innovation festival, it is proposed to work with public administrations, universities, vocational training centres, rural development entities, foundations, civil associations and NGOs from different regions of Europe. Research will be carried out to define the skills and functions of the profile and to determine the scope of the current training offer. Based on this information, training activities for students and professionals will be designed and tested in different regions of the participating countries. The project will include mobility and sharing activities between the different participating regions in order to foster the exchange of knowledge and experiences. Dissemination activities will be organised to raise awareness of the profile among students, business and public administration. Objectives: • To reduce barriers and differences between rural and urban environments, promoting inclusion and access to services for people living in rural areas. • To create training resources that meet the needs of societies. • To set up multidisciplinary work teams. • To train agents of change, characterised by critical thinking and an entrepreneurial spirit. • To facilitate the exchange of experiences between entities from different regions.
