Project objectives:
Short summary
A Swedish SME has developed an AI platform that is used to analyse brain waves of people in order to track and evaluate their cognitive performance during different activities. This area has many interesting application and future potential innovations. Therefore the company is planning to apply for Eurostars funding and is looking for for a German partner within automotive, aviation, security or gaming industries to futher develop and adapt the platform for their application.
Full description
The field of neurotechnology that focuses on monitoring and translating neural activity in the brain, the so-called Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) is rapidly moving from research to consumer applications. There are many opportunities to utilize and benefit from adopting BCI in industrial applications and operations in order to build safer and more convenient products, services, and processes. The Swedish research-intensive SME working in the field of neurotechnology has developed a platform based on neuroscience and uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to extract, evaluate, and automate brain wave analysis. It is real-time cloud-based Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) gadget/platform to track and evaluate the cognitive performance of a person during different operating environments. This application could be used within varous of indusries such as: - vehicle industry (road, rail, aviation and watercraft as well as training of the operators, drivers, pilots, and captains), - gaming industry, where the product will be a tool to use during product development, - surveillance and security areas. The Swedish company is now looking for German industrial partners to join a proposal for the Eurostars funding programme with cut-off date 15 september 2022. Therefore the company is seeking a partner interested to further validate the technology in one or more operational environments/industrial areas and/or develop the platform in terms of cloud performance, data management, wearable design, industrial design, as well as bringing new ideas of application. Currently the Swedish company is cooperating with several partners in Sweden and across the EU within academia, industry, and research organisations. In Germany specifically, they have a partner in a research organisation and are now looking for a German industrial partner of any size to join the consortia.
Advantages and innovations
A Human Monitoring System for Industrial Applications Based On The Brain-Computer Interface Technology. The main advantage of the platform is to take the classical user/human cognitive evaluation from a subjective level to a data-based level. This advantage on its own can bring further advantages for instance deeper insights with more extensive information about human cognitive performance on an industrial scale, repeatable, faster, and more accurate approach toward cognitive tracking and evaluation of a person. The core of innovation in this work is the novel AI algorithms that have been developed and used for pre-processing and post-processing the brain waves to extract relevant cognitive features for industrial applications. In addition, the new patented hardware for collecting the brain waves is another innovative aspect of this product.
